Vir Biotechnology announced that Phase 3 ECLIPSE 1 results for elebsiran plus tobevibart in chronic hepatitis delta will be presented on November 8, with an investor discussion on November 9. Elebsiran is an HBV-targeting siRNA; tobevibart is an antibody. The release announces the forthcoming readout and expanded Phase 2 presentations but does not disclose the Phase 3 numerical results.
Nitto Denko Avecia and EnPlusOne signed an evaluation agreement for the ezRNA enzymatic synthesis platform. The phased program covers proof-of-concept studies, laboratory process evaluation, and technology transfer at Avecia facilities. The platform uses a water-based, template-free process. The agreement evaluates manufacturing feasibility; it does not announce a completed commercial manufacturing contract or a definitive platform license.
IDT and Aldevron launched PE Ultra prime-editor mRNA, chemically modified pegRNAs, and six ABE8e-based editor mRNAs with a parallel screening kit. The companies also described guide-design support and stocked quantities from 20 micrograms to 1 milligram. These are research-use products; the announcement does not establish clinical safety, efficacy, or approval.
Alnylam announced AHA and ISA presentations covering vutrisiran in transthyretin amyloidosis, including five-year HELIOS-B follow-up with two years of open-label extension data. Planned analyses also examine exercise capacity, cardiopulmonary measures, and real-world treatment patterns. The announcement previews forthcoming presentations; open-label and post hoc analyses require interpretation distinct from randomized comparisons.
An AAPS Open perspective surveys conjugation strategies for antisense oligonucleotides and siRNAs, including small-molecule ligands, cell-penetrating peptides, antibodies, and aptamers. The abstract contrasts clinically established GalNAc delivery with emerging approaches to extrahepatic tissues and discusses translation challenges. This is a synthesis of delivery platforms and clinical progress, rather than a new experimental or clinical efficacy study.
Based on the PubMed abstract, researchers combined guanidine-bridged nucleic acid and MOE modifications in antisense gapmers, reporting improved knockdown in laboratory and animal experiments. Activity persisted beyond 24 weeks in mouse brain after intracerebroventricular administration. The study also examined immune responses and toxicity; these preclinical results do not establish human safety or efficacy.
Wave's quarterly update describes planning for a registrational WVE-006 RNA-editing study in AATD and ongoing WVE-007 siRNA Phase 2a work. The company also reports FDA support for its LC-MS assay in the planned WVE-006 program. Regulatory feedback and trial plans do not constitute marketing approval or comparative efficacy evidence.
This review examines RNA species, structure and function, chemical modifications, and delivery systems in the context of therapeutic development. It connects molecular design with stability and distribution and discusses clinical applications available at the time of writing. Its historical approval overview should not be interpreted as a current, exhaustive drug list.
